RAVERS are going to party like it's 1989 this New Year's Eve, with a night filled with old school tunes and vibes.
A quarter of century after they hosted an illegal rave on the Hoe – sparking a major police operation and making the front page of The Herald in the process – Simon Debruin and his friend Sean Hill, who used to DJ together at Zena's nightclub in Union Street, threw a legal all-nighter at the Voodoo Lounge to reunite Plymouth's party posse.
The 'SAS Reunion' event in September was such a huge success, with hundreds turning up to dance away the night and the years, that Simon decided to get the gang back together for a special New Year's Eve event at the Factory nightclub on Lockyer Street.
The night will feature Simon and Sean – AKA DJ Hurry ad MC Ribbz of SAS – along with a plethora of other party animals, including DJ Apache & MC Skinny D and DJ Scorpio.
Simon said: "Put your hands in the air for this one – the SAS are hosting the biggest old school rave for New Year's Eve in the south west.
"After the success of the reunion in September a lot of people felt left out because couldn't make it for one reason or another.
"So, here we are in the Factory for the New Year, looking forward to seeing all you party people – and seeing in 2016,with the best old school DJs in the country.
"I cannot wait for this! See you on the dance floor. Happy new year, Plymouth!"
Entry costs £5 on the door before 10am and £10 after, with the night running from 8pm until late.
