ORGANISERS of Plymouth's Volksfest say they are working hard to guarantee full refunds for paper ticket holders and traders after the event was cancelled weeks before it was due to take place this year.
Volksfest was due to take place over the May Bank Holiday weekend but was cancelled with just weeks to go after a key organiser, Vince Davies, was hospitalised.
Thousands of tickets had been snapped up for the three-day event which was due to feature artists such as East 17, Wilko Johnson, Atomic Kitten and Finley Quaye.
Organisers have now said they are working hard to make sure all paper ticket holders and traders receive their full refund.
A statement from PVF events team said: "We want to offer sincere apologises to all the paper ticket holders and traders that are still waiting for their refunds.
"The insurers are still being fed information as it is requested and some of it is very difficult to obtain because of the health issues involved and the complications that has caused.
"We're acutely aware that people are running short of patience and that's completely understandable. There is a lot of work going on behind the scenes to make sure that everything that needs to be done to resolve the situation is done.
"It's an unbelievably long process, with a lot of people involved, and the added ongoing difficulties with Vince's health has not made the task quicker or any easier."
The Volksfest events team will be in contact with anyone awaiting a refund when the situation becomes clearer. It is unknown whether the festival will take place next year.
The three-day event has previously taken place at Newnham Park and included Bob Geldof, Razorlight and The Feeling.
